National Horseman 1948 – The Replica
January 1948 Issue of National Horseman, saddle-bound, 68 pages, features news of the era, articles on great broodmare & dam of American Ace, Kathryn Haines by Rex Monroe; the Chicago Horse Show, Lippizzaners, How To Groom Army Style (?!!); gossip, vet Q & A, & lots of very entertaining ads (US Army horse blankets for $6.95!).
Photos include Nancy Highland’s Chief on the cover, Lee Roby, five-gaited golden Saddlebred Richardson’s Pot O’ Gold, a couple sons of King’s Genius, Bourmont by Bourbon King, Kalarama Colonel, & The Replica as a Junior Champion.
Condition: Very good, covers have a few creases & light staining, pages are unmarked but a couple have creases.
There is light warping from moisture to a bottom left area of about 1 1/2″ on several pages.
This is a great issue to add to your Saddlebred collection as well as a very enjoyable read!
